Why: CASD Cares was formed as a community service project by a dedicated group of Administrators that includes Susan Breslin, Mike Snedden, Sarah Herbert, Angie Pollock, Angie Lynch, Tammy Stouffer, Kris Carroll and Christine Wolgemuth. CASD Cares is a way to help and support the communities represented by our school district.
We have dedicated ourselves to planning events and activities connected to four main goals:
· Caring for community and environment
· Acting responsibly
· Serving others
· Dedicated to our children’s future
Date: On Saturday, April 25, 2015 the Chambersburg Area School District community will take part in a community–wide clean up event. Our goal is to actively involve as many students, teachers, and families in this event!
Where: The community clean-up will include:
Time: 9 AM - 11 AM
Please mark your calendars and plan on joining us for this community-wide clean-up initiative! More information will be forcoming!
The rain date for the event will be May 2, 2015.
Needed: We will need volunteer coordinators for each area! We also need a secondary person from each building to identify projects that need to be done.

What is going on at each school?
Andrew Buchanan – cleanup and replant memorial garden, plant sunflower garden, cleanup trash around neighborhood, a recycling center will be available (juice pouches, tabs, crayons, eye glasses, etc.) and more
Falling Spring – create a school garden, plant a memorial tree, general grounds clean-up, “bag-it” video with students prior to event. Schedule of events can be found here.
Guilford Hills – general grounds cleanup, paint playground equipment, make bird houses, and a picnic to promote community relationships
CAMS North - cleanup the grounds of Memorial Park
Lurgan – grounds cleanup, a pork barbecue dinner fundraiser, Earth Day facts posted on our fitness trail, a 1K fitness fun walk/run and maybe even a color run/walk
Career Magnet School - plant flowers, renew mulch, wash windows, weed, sweep the stones from the concrete and walk ways, and hang CMS Pride signs on light poles
Grandview, Fayetteville, Hamilton Heights, South Hamilton, CAMS South, and Ben Chambers also will participate.
